The Process of social change i.e. modernization, urbanization and technological changes have modified the value system and shifted the socio-economic priorities which have thrown the life on fast tracks and often left with no time for our senior citizens. The old and senior citizens, who have provided a great service to the society, feel neglected and unwanted at this stage of life. The declining physical strength and other geriatric ailments add to their problems. It is the social apathy at this fag end of their lives which is a cause of major concern. The problem is more severe in the urban areas and it is going to worsen in the coming years.

In these circumstances, provisions of the care of older persons have increasingly to be provided by voluntary organization/NGOs. The government must come forward to facilitate these voluntary organization/NGO working in the field by providing help in form of land/grants.

The VANPRASTHA is one such organization with a commitment to serve its senior/old aged citizens. This NGOs is formed and run by some Central and Haryana State Govt. employees mostly from Haryana State. They have come together to do something meaningful for segment of society prominently from Haryana.

Name of NGO: VANPRASTHA which is registered at 104, Sector-9 Faridabad (Haryana) under the Registration of Society Act (1860) (as amended).
